“A cyborg is a cybernetic organism, a hybrid of machine and organism. A creature of social reality as well as a creature of fiction.”
The cyborg can break down classification based on dualism – man/woman, self/other, culture/nature, civilized/primitive, right/wrong.
Haraway explains that these dualisms are in competition with one another, creating paradoxical relations of domination (especially between the One and the Other). To challenge essentialism and build new identities beyond binary thinking.
